Frequently Asked Questions

Laser Hair Removal

What is Smart Diode?

Smart Diode is a certified medical grade diode laser for the application of superfast hair removal.

How does it work?

Selective thermolysis is when specifically selected wavelengths of laser light are pulsed into the skin and absorbed by the darker pigment (melanin) in the hair shaft.

This light energy is converted into heat which is transferred into the hair follicle damaging the follicle and inhibiting future hair growth.

Up to a maximum of 30% of follicles can be terminated per treatment.

Is it Safe?

The SMART Diode is an internationally quality assured medical grade laser, which is completely safe.

Does it treat all skin types?

Yes, the Smart Diode has been certified to treat all skin types on the fitzpatrick scale 1-6.

Can it treat white hair?

No, as the laser process relies on a pigment to absorb light energy and convert it into heat energy, white hair has no colour pigment.

How many sessions are required?

The biological process of hair growth cycles determines that a minimum of 6 treatments are required. Different human factors and clinical indications can require further treatments, on average 8 sessions would be required per treatment area.

What are the benefits?

  • suitable for all skin types
  • achieve optimum results
  • comfortable
  • pain free
  • super fast
  • consistent results

Caci Non-Surgical & Anti- Ageing

What is Microcurrent?

Microcurrent therapy delivers tiny electrical impulses that mirror the body’s own natural bioelectrical field. Microcurrent stimulation helps to re-educate the muscles and can lift, firm and tone. Microcurrent in aesthetics is commonly described as “facial toning” or “non-surgical face lifting” due to the dramatic lifting effect that it has on facial muscles and contours.

What does Microcurrent feel like?

Microcurrent treatment is virtually sub-sensory with just a slight tingling sensation. Customers often describe it as an energised or warm sensation on the skin and is virtually painless. Some people may experience a ‘metallic’ taste, this is more common when there are metal fillings in the mouth.

How many treatments should I have?

When you’re beginning your Caci Facials they need to be done in a course of 10-12 over the space of 5-6 weeks. For your first week you will need to have 3 with a day in between for example Monday, Wednesday & Friday. If you can keep up 3 a week for your course that’s great if not then after your first week you can then do 2 a week trying to keep them the same days until the end of your course, for example Tuesdays & Fridays or Wednesday & Saturdays. After you have done your course of 10-12 you then come back for maintenance every 4-6 weeks.

Why do I have to do the course?

Well Caci is exactly like going to the gym, the more you go the quicker you notice, so for your course you need to have them done close together helping the muscle to remember what position it needs to be in. Once your course is finished and we have trained and uplifted the muscles, you will then come in every 4-6 weeks for your top up.

What happens if I stop treatments?

If you stop, the results will gradually diminish and your facial muscles may eventually return to how they were before treatments commenced. If it is left any longer than 6 weeks you may have to start the course again.

In what circumstances is treatment not advised?

Treatment is not advised if you have any of the following conditions: All forms of cancer, pregnancy, epilepsy, diabetes, heart condition/ cardiac pacemaker, thrombosis, facial implants (if treating face), skin disease (avoid area), skin lesions, recent surgery (performed within the last 6 months), Areas being treated with Botox® (wait 3 months) or dermal fillers (wait 2 weeks) should be avoided. Note: Anti-depressants, high blood pressure and other muscle relaxants may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

Hopi Ear Candling

What are Hopi ear candles used for?

Hopi Ear Candles are hollow tubes made of cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs. When lit, the candle acts like a chimney, causing the warm air inside it to rise and creating a vacuum at the bottom. This vacuum gently stimulates the ear, facilitating removal of excess wax and impurities.
Ear candles are used to promote healing, relieve stress, and to release blocked energy. Ear candling is meant to be a soothing relaxing experience that is similar to aromatherapy.

What are the benefits of Hopi ear candles?

Hopi candles can be used for many conditions including deafness caused by excess wax, congested sinuses, and irritation in the ears, ringing or noises in the ears, tinnitus, rhinitis, glue ear, colds, flu, headaches and migraines. As their action is so gentle, they are particularly suitable for children.

How long is the treatment?

The treatment of Hopi Ear Candles lasts approximately 30 minutes. It involves positioning a candle in one of the ears and allowing it to burn to a measured level before gently removing it and extinguishing it in water. The face is then massaged to stimulate the pressure points around the sinuses to help clear any congestion and aid relaxation.

Can anyone have this done?

The only contra-indications listed for this treatment include perforated eardrums, where grommets have been inserted or allergies to any of the ingredients in the ear candles.

Can threading be done on a beard?
